Last of the summer whine
I've just got back from a very successful school tour for the Council of Europe's New Earth Deal campaign.

I must say I've throughly enjoyed talking to the students in Leeds, London, Birmingham and Manchester and telling them how this Government has been leading the world on combating climate change.
Don't let anyone tell you that they don't care about what will happen in Copenhagen. They were all passionate, informative and more than prepared to challenge me!
So I must say I felt like it was groundhog day when I got off the train this afternoon at London Euston and saw this headline:

I've got to say it would be more of an exclusive if it read 'Charles Clarke - Brown must STAY.'
That's because almost a year ago, Charles was saying exactly the same thing with exactly the same arranged media back up.
So we formed Go Fourth in response and I ended up calling him a 'Bitterite.' You can see that little exchange on the Politics Show here. As you can see, he wasn't happy but we saw him off.
He said the same thing again in May to undermine Labour in the European Elections. Back then I told him to stop complaining and get campaigning. Here's me telling him that on the Today programme.
I must admit Charles has started campaigning since then.
Sadly it's not for a Labour victory.
Why he's sharing platforms with the Lib Dems at their party conference I have no idea. I also note he's not asked for Clegg to resign - YET!
Everyone knows Brighton is the last Labour conference before the General Election with the party campaigning for a fourth term of social justice.
I'll be at party conference this Saturday night at our 'Go Fourth and Tweet 4 Victory' fringe, asking supporters to crowd source our campaign strategy upto the election.
We'll be upstairs at the Charles Street club in Brighton from 6pm-8pm and it's absolutely free (though I will twist your arm to buy one of my signed books to raise funds - a rare unsigned copy will also be auctioned to the highest bidder!) Thanks also to Tribune for sponsoring the event.
So my advice to Charles is if you don't want to fight for that fourth term, get out of the way and let those who care get on with the campaign of securing a Labour victory which so many millions of people are dependant on.
Finally, I see the media willingly misinterpreted by pygmies comment about Gordon's rivals.
I was actually talking about Cameron and Clegg, who really proved it this week in Bournemouth.
Hope to see you in Brighton.
