Not again!

Well, it's been a bit of a day today. But after campaigning against the BNP for Margaret Hodge in Barking and Jon Cruddas in Dagenham, the last place I thought I'd find trouble woud be in Poplar!

I was addressing supporters and members of the public just outside Jim Fitzpatrick's HQ on Chrisp St Market when two men dressed in John Prescott masks, started barging through the crowd.

I tried to reason them but they seemed to be having none of it. In the skuffle they knocked down two women.

I do hope the women are ok. I know how much of a shock it can be to find yourself in an incident like that.

The interesting development from Rhyl is that the incident was defined by the media. I was painted out as the thug when I was actually responding to being attacked.

This time, I could tell you the story from my perspective and reveal the fact that today's attacker is actually a Tory council candidate called Martin Coxall.

Here's him getting ready on the right (i think he's standing next to another Tory candidate called Paul Ingham who also wore a mask and was protesting)

Here's a picture of Coxall on the rampage.

Here's his leaflet - the "Conservative Action Team!"

Here's his fellow 'action' colleage Paul Ingham.

And here's footage of Coxall being led away.

Thanks to social media the tables have turned.

Now we can get the truth out there before the media puts a spin on it!
