Well it seems our Give Up The Bonus campaign against RBS has taken off again.
I've done a sucession of interviews for Sky, BBC, Channel 4 and ITN - also on Five Live after 4 today too.
You can sign the petition here but we thought it would be be a good idea to give RBS a taste of their own medicine by sending them an overdraft letter - after all, we've given them a £20 billion facility.
So below you can download your own overdraft letter and send it to RBS Chief Executive Stephen Hester.
The text of the letter says:
Mr Stephen Hester,
Chief Executive,
Royal Bank of Scotland,
280 Bishopsgate,
London,
EC2M 4RB
December 4 2009
Dear Mr Hester,
In October 2008 you successfully applied for a £20 billion overdraft facility from the British taxpayer.
Whilst we had reservations, we decided to give it to you on the understanding that you would use the money to keep small businesses afloat and people in their homes.
So in February 2009 we were somewhat concerned to discover you applied to use £1 billion of that overdraft to give bonuses to the very bankers and traders who put you in that dire financial position.
After 30,000 other British taxpayers made it clear that we wouldn't accept that improper use of the overdraft, you decided not to proceed.
Now we understand that you are attempting to do this again - but this time using £1.5 billion of our money.
We must point out we find this totally unacceptable and as the British public is the majority shareholder in the Royal Bank of Scotland, we strongly insist you think again or we may consider closing your personal account for good.
Yours sincerely.
British Taxpayer
