The Age of Stupid

I'm in Brussels today to talk to the EU Commission on how they're preparing for the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference but thought I'd do a quick vlog on the 'Age Of Stupid.'

I saw it at the fantastic Kilburn Tricycle Theatre yesterday afternoon but had to miss the Q&A with the director Franny Armstrong and Ed Miliband to catch the train to Brussels.

It reminds me a lot of Al Gore's 'An Inconvenient Truth' and really should be shown in every school. It also features Pete Postlethwaite and tomorrow I'll tell you why one of his films actually changed thousands of people's lives for the better.

Until then, you can find out more about the film here but I will say one last thing - windfarm developer Piers Guy's battle against NIMBYs in Bedfordshire make him a real star of this film.

John,

Do you have any problems in this current ecconomic cycle? How goes your MP's salary and 'expenses'?

Nice job if you can get it. My place has just laid of 15 of its' workforce and we're not getting any pay rise this year.

Do not choke on the 'FREE' buffet.

What a load of SIMPLETONS

4 Day week think of the CO2 savings

Work from home close the Co2 producing CALL CENTRES (If they had been chickens in battery sheds you would have called it CRUEL)

Where are the saviours of the planet on these issues?

"An Inconvenient Truth" is the fact that Tesco have taken my pension rise before I've received it.
A cut of beef to feed my wife and I has risen from £4 to £6 in two month.
What percentage is that I wonder.
Never mind I can get 36 cans of beer for tenner.

Well at Royston High in Hertfordshire its is an increase of 50%

So you are paying 150% of the original price of 2 months pevious.

To solve your problem shop at ASDA but wait until 2 days before its sell by date then it might be reduced to its original price.

That is a 50% rise Glad I don`t eat much beef only minced beef, but mostly chicken and fish.Booze is so cheap in supermarkets I saw some youths pushing a whole trolley full of it past my flat and they didn`t look old enough. I prefer a decent pint in the pub myself it goes down much better.
